It has also been ranked in China at 105,156 !
It is an important milestone for us and you. We want to thank everyone for using our website and we hope to provide more content and useful features in the near future.
http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/windowscollective.net

Copyright 2010 and beyond lancasteraquatics

Removal Of Some Features

It came to a point, with spammers, that I had to remove some of the features we have here at the Windowscollective. I tried hard to manage our Forum, Wiki and Social Net. But it seems that some idiots just can't follow rules!
It was nice we had a Wiki (mediawiki) where our users could help to build a place with information that was useful and informative for everyone. Perhaps some people did not know what a wiki was or how to use it. But that is a poor excuse. Because there was links to information on what the mission was and how to make useful entries. Nevertheless, most of what I saw was being entered was links to pill pushing, porn, on-line pharmacy sites for profit. Surly this was not what was intended for a Wiki. So... I deleted the entire thing. Gone!
As if that was not enough! the bastards thought the Social Net (ELGG) was to used for the same thing. certainly I found some people used it for what I consider a legit purpose. Roughly 3% had used it correctly. but the other 97% of users just thought it was a place to post links to pharmacy, porn and rouge websites. so... completely removed it too.
Now, our Simple machines forum had for several years been a place where users could share information about technical issues, offer technical help and post links to websites that offered tech assistance. It worked out quite well. But all of a sudden, there where 23,000 plus users who used it for.... same junk as the others. So after trying to edit or delete users who where abusing our features, I gave up and just removed the one I was spending so much time fighting. I really do not like to fight. A good argument is good. but I do not have the time to spend hours each week just trying to edit your useless post.
So being this is the Web Republic Of Net Citizens. And I really want to have links to other websites, why did i remove this? It is my belief that people had enough! Enough of YOU, the people who fill our inbox with your spam about some dating hook-up, pharmacy pushing scam and messages about some crap we do not want from you. And I'll be damn if I am going to let you use my website to promote junk I have no interest in at all.

Copyright 2010 and beyond lancasteraquatics

Who's Who

Wanted to let everyone know of my inclusion into the Global Who's Who and my nomination in the Cambridge Who's Who.
Come on everyone! You hear it all the time. SLASH. "Yeah, just go to somethingoranother.com SLASH thingamajiggy. for a new whatjamacallit.
So just what is this slash thing after all? And why does it matter? That is a question I am going to answer. So sit back and hold on to your laptops, and we shall go to what it all means. And it really matters, at least to me to clarify it to the thousands of people I talked to that did not know.

Here it is;
This is called a back slash \ .
This is called a forward slash / .
As can be seen, the back slash leans to the left. The forward slash leans to the right.
The back slash is normally used on the local machine (computer) to access the hard disk drive (hdd).
The forward slash is used to access the Internet or a network.

Ok. I feel better now.

For me, it is nice to have access to a collection of links to everything I use on the Internet. This is the reason I created the Windowscollective. It was a selfish reason no doubt. However, it does provide for me everything "I" need. Nevertheless, each day I find I need to connect with more persons and sites. Therefore I keep updating my website. This Blog is a fine example of the tools one has available to simply express something.
I hope that anyone whom Stumbleupon this blog learns that I wish to share this site. I welcome you to use it and if you need something added, send me an e-Mail with the link and I can add it.
One of the things I like while surfing the net is listening to music. So it was natural I store music here and a way to listen. Here is the link so you may enjoy it too.

http://windowscollective.net/dn/pub/cd/player.html

And if you have Windows Media Player, you can save the entire playlist to you PC. There are at the date of this blog 204 songs in this playlist. It is very small because it is only a list of where the music is stored. In addtion to, the list will be named "Wincol Stream" in your playlist. It plays in streaming media. Enjoy it!

https://www.windowscollective.net/dn/pub/cd/wincol stream.wpl

I will continue to make this your site so you can enjoy it too.

Copyright 2010 and beyond lancasteraquatics

The Examiner.com

Coming soon I will be a writer for The Examiner http://examiner.com My works will be about home based business and how to set-up and maintain a website.
